I took this and for some reason, it just doesn't look right to me, I don't know how to put it, but it just doesn't look real. When I PP in LR3 beta, IMO it looks worse. I have great luck w/my 450D especially w/shots like this but this photo seems to be missing something. Maybe I'm crazy, opinions wanted..thanks. Exif should be in tact
Edit: Not sure what happened to the exif data, I exported as jpg straight from dpp w/no PP and it shows up on flickr

exif info:

Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 24 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: +1/3 EV

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

How do you get a larger picture on here without going over the 150kb limit?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Not sure, I just link from my flickr account. I though max dimension were 1024xXXX if I have violated the rules, I can resize the pic....

I think the mid-day sun washes out a lot. Here is my attempt using some selective levels and mild sharpening.

I did add +1/3 EV so I could pull back the exposure a little in post to preserve some of the shadow detail on the surfaces that weren't being hit by direct sunlight. Maybe, I should have just left the needle centered on this one...

Midday is just not the best light. It creates washed out looking images. You have to shoot when the light is interesting, like sunrise or sunset.

Thanks, that looks a little more like what I saw that day. I think the sun might have been the culprit here, more opinions welcome....

I took this @ around 1pm so maybe you're right, the +1/3 ev surely didn't help my cause. Lesson learned...

I had to bring down the quality level to 4 in CS2 when I saved it to bring it under the 150kb limit.

OP - My first thought when I saw your pic was that the sky is washed out causing the building to kind of blend into the sky to some degree. My guess based on the shadow patterns is that you shot this close to mid-day? Do you have a circular polarizer for the kit lens? If not, you may want to think about adding one as it can help to "pop" your skies and greens. For a 58mm filter mount, you can get a pretty good one for low cost. Cool scene by the way. :)
