I believe the Octopus just goes for shiny things (not unlike some of us) :) I laughed at how hard it held onto his spear gun.

That happened here where I live in Wellington, New Zealand. The guy said in the local paper that he carried that Octopus around on the speargun for 20 minutes before it let go.
