The older you get, the less that is a problem. Absoltely, on the focus screen. Why every decent DSLR doesn't have one is beyond me.

I suppose this thread is a little scary...Skygod starts the thread and goes on about 'old' yet is not much more than a whippersnapper at just over 40!!! Come on, Simon!

My sig says it all. I think.

“A man is only as old as the woman he feels.” (Groucho Marx)

On that basis, I'm not that old at all. Who cares? Don't know - at my age my memory fades

Age IS a state of mind. And I really don't.

Being a bad photographer and not really caring that others think that!

Lloyd,

That makes sense. Whether others think you are a bad photographer is their problem (unless you profess to be good and are not), as long as you are happy with your own photographs, which often I am not.

I've got all the way to the end of this thread and can't remember what it's about... :D

I can remember when ISO was ASA, max shutter speed was around 1/500th sec, and a motordrive/grip actually did something :-)

Back in the good old days...

Never mind the good old days, they're are long gone and beyond our control.

Remember the 'good old days' but embrace the good new days...they ARE the future :)

Back in the good old days indeed.

I remember back when inbuilt meters topped out at 1600 ASA/DIN, there were no 1600 ASA films and push processing was a hit and miss affair ( although I did master pushing Tri-X two stops).

The term bokeh hadn't been discovered yet.

LOL, "old" is relative right? I wouldn't trade my age, which is 54.5, for anything! My teenaged grandkids call me "Granny Dynamite" cuz I have more energy than they do half the time, and I HAD my turn at what life has to offer the young. Not everybody gets to have "a turn" and I had one hell of a great time being young and am still having a blast as I age. It's just a different kind of blast. PROS: Photographically, I'm at the top of my game. Personally speaking, my bull**** meter is finely tuned, I am smarter and so much wiser, and my ability to say "no" without apology is second to none. I can't say that was the case in my younger years. CONS: I can't carry my gear around as effortlessly as I used to, and can't read my camera settings without my glasses. All in all, I wouldn't want to go back in time, not even for a second.

Getting older as it relates to photography? Well, last month I got a photo of the inside of my colon. Does that count?

I trust you don't have it mounted on your wall.
