These were all handheld to and being a newb I have a ton of shake. Ken

Judging by the slight blur of the pitcher's hand I'm going to guess you were in the 1/125 range. Some other interesting shots could be after the throw, or the batter about to hit or just hitting the ball. Not too sure if you tried those though or if the conditions were adequate enough (fast enough shutter). - Andrew, Photojournalist

I don't shoot at night anymore but I sell my shots so I go for the highest quality possible. I would pull back on the noise reduction a bit as they look a little too plasticky for my taste. Most people are used to seeing graininess in sports images so some graininess is very acceptable. 5D, 40D, Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX, Sigma 15MM Fisheye,17-40 L, 24-105 L, 50 1.8, Tamron 28-75 2.8, Sigma 70-200 2.8, 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS, 100-400 L, 300 F4 L, 580 ex, Sigma 500 Super DG Flash x 2, too much other stuff to list.
