Having a very hard time finding one at the B&H, Adorama, etc. Canon is gouging $215 per. Has this been hard to find for some time or just recent?

You could try the clone ones on ebay, about USD 30

I picked mine up at B&H for $139 in November of last year, so I don't understand why the price would have jumped up that high unless it's MSRP.

EDit: It's still the same price I bought it, so $215 must be MSRP. I have no idea why it would be scarce, though.

I've been looking for one for over a month and nothing... Canon is either replacing this item or it is in between production runs.

It appears out of stock on B&H but you can have them email you when available. I have done that before. Sounds like a stock issue or as you say, between runs. At any rate, the item is listed at $135 so I would not pay $215 for it.

I gave up waiting to find a Canon TC-80NS. So i took the plunge and purchased a Phottix TR-90 remote for $60 from Hong Kong. Result, I couldn't be happier. It has all the functions of the Canon remote timer, works great on my 40D and IDmkIII. It is very well made from high quality plastic. Fit & finish is very high level. The instruction manual is well written and clear. Runs off two AAA included batteries. Even the box and packaging was very nice. I don't typically buy non OEM brand equipment but I am very pleased with this product at a great price. Highly recommended for those who want Canon quality at a much lower price.
