I'm self taught, it's years of pratice and alot of photo taking, trying different things and not being affraid to think outside the square, keeping a book of my settings & how I positioned myself & my model, and lots of practice. If so, maybe dial it down a tad..... I always have a lot of grief with whites outdoors. Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
