I was planning on buying this bag for my gear, but just noticed there was a 202 that looks really similar to the 200, the only difference i see is the tripod strap on the side, which can be useful to me.

Are there any other differences besides that?

I have a Slingshot 300 and frankly, I hardly ever use it because it's not comfortable at all.

It's become my "strobist" bag carrying Speedlites, Skyports and Batteries and that's about all.

I have to agree. I have the 200AW and it's neither comfortable or makes your camera gear safely accessible.

If I could suggest a great bag, take a look at the lowepro flipside300.

what bag do you have to carry a griped 50d, 28-135, 15-85, 580exii, 430exii, and pocketwizards? and have room over for more gear later on, and is a backpack style, i already have a shoulder bag but its not good for travel

the flipside 300 is nice, but not quite sure if i need that much room, i dont have a big lens like a 70-200, how much bigger is the 300 compared to the 200?

as for size, the flipside is about the same size at the SS200AW.
I agree that maybe the 300 might be a bit too big for you, but it's very comfortable and when you put your waist strap on, you can turn it around and safely and easily access your equipment. I like how the bag acts like a table where you can switch lenses or grab gear.
I've been through a lot of different bags, but I like the flipside the most.

im really liking the flipside 200, and the idea that you can flip it around on the waste band and it acts like a table, i think im going to order that one in black right now! thanks for your help!

The SS200 is my most frequently used day to day bag of the few I own. It would have been nice if the tripod version was available at the time I bought mine. Given the choice today, I would get the 202.

I have the 200, and I've loved it!
More and more, I've taken to not carrying a body in a bag though - I mainly carry it out of the bag, and leave the bag for lenses and flashes and other stuff

one thing too... re-arranging the inside padding to make it all side-accessible is key!

I've had the 200AW for a few years now.. It's the bag I take when I'm travelling light.. One body+grip, three lenses, Speedlite and other bits and pieces.. It's comfortable for hours and fits nicely into the overhead compartment in a plane..

I have just bought a 202 as the zip broke on my 200. The top pocket (triangular one) is bigger and the microfiber cloth in the bag that was on the bottom when laid down to open the bag is now on the side.

Inside the main flap there are two cf pockets instead of one bigger one.

As well as the tripod strap there is a pull out tripod pocket that the end of the tripod would sit in.

That is about it

I'd get a AW 202, but the 200 is great too. I use mine since 2008 and I love it. For the size, it holds a lot of gear:
