-=POTN Photo Event Calendar Thread=-

Since i have been taking pictures i am always looking through the local press and searching online for interesting events or places to go shoot. Places that of course are not too bothered by a few amateur photographers hanging their lenses around.
I was thinking how nice it would be if we could all pool our knowledge in one forum or thread listing up and coming events or secret places that will be of interest.

What do you think?

I will start us off


Nottingham: Langar airfield host there Skydiving Boogie 27,28,29th August. Plenty of spectators space. Really long lenses needed for freefall shots! But excellent oppotunities for landings! FREE

Leicestershire: Donnington park track days, 22nd and 30th August. Excellent access to pit lane and infield for practice at motorsports. FREE

Devon: Torbay steam trains running every sunday throughout august, a nice chance to grab some pictures as it runs along the seawall between dawlish warren and teignmouth.

East Midlands UK:

Bevoir castle, about 15 miles east of nottingham has the CLA game fair on this weekend. Plenty of shooting oppotunities with loads of country sports on display including falconry for the bird lovers.

That looks cool, i wish i was closer to london.

later in August 9(19,20,21st) there is the Northampton Balloon Festival which is good for night shots.
As soon as the sun goes down they have a 'Night glow' where the tethered balloons are illuminated by there burners. Fireworks too.

Now that's interesting ... unfortunately I can't find a roadmap in the site.
I guess it should be the 27.8 when they passing in Luxembourg... but where?

on friday 26/8 they go to holiday inn airport brussels and on saturday 27/8 they drive to luxembourg an back to the holiday inn airport brussels. and on sunday 28/8 back to scheveningen. that's all i could find for you.
if i find more i'll let you know.

Yes...

I browsed through the historicrally site and found the the pdf with the rules...

[SIZE=2]If weather is dry, we'll go with the family look. That will give us approximately one hour to watch the cars and then see them depart again
