My Mountain Dew addiction finally served a purpose, as did my daughter's taste for Pepsi. A "one is not like the others" concept, lit with a single AlienBee AB800 with large soft box, just behind the camera.

concept is cool. I would have like it exposed so that you can't make out the cloth so much, or even have light only on the cans (if that makes any sense)

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I tried to do so with a 30-degree honeycomb, but it caused way too much light to hit the cans (as reflective as they are). So, I switched to a large soft box to help dissipate the light, but the trade off was more light hitting the backdrop. I tried to contrast it out, but couldn't take it that low. Any tips?

Use something to flag off the light from the foreground. I use black cloth or a black foamcore board.

Did you try one with the Pepsi can in the formation with the Mt Dews?

I'll give that a try, next time I attempt something like this. Thanks for the tip.

I believe I did shoot one or two with the Pepsi in the formation. I'll have to dig through to see what I have.

EDIT: I checked - I do not have any with the Pepsi in the formation. I think I DID, but I removed all of the photos I decided not to use, to help conserve disk space.
