One of many sunset pictures I took in Grandview Campground in the White Mountains, looking west toward the Sierra Nevadas.

I've been told that the murky, dark look in the sky is the earth's shadow against the atmosphere. Do you know if that's true, Bob? Or was I just fed a line? My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Lately I've been keeping that on the lens all the time instead of a UV filter. My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

I see a lot of contrast between the sky and trees. Maybe it's my monitor, time to recalibrate I think. Karen

I guess I need to rethink how I resize pictures for display on the web. You're the second person this week to accuse me of oversharpening my pictures here... I think it has more to do with the way different moniters show it. I've noticed on some of mine where I did a little USM and it looked great on my home computer, but when I looked at it a work it had a lot of haloing. I've also noticed sometimes that it looks good when I do it but when I look at it on the gallery page I was, same thing, a haloing effect. I try to do the least amount of USM I can. Oh by the way I didn't really notice any haloing on these that you posted. the name is Winston but they call me Sandy
