Hi,

so first off, never bid on something without reading the description fully.

i bid on a t2i that was converted to do IR photography. which would be nice except that i read one of the q&a at the bottom (after placing my bid), it reads:

Q: can this still take normal pictures like during daylight?
A: No, the internal infrared block filter is was replaced by a visible light blocker. You may be able to take normal photos with long exposure and a infrared block filter in front of the lens.

i thought it was the ones that only needed a front IR blocking filter (on the lens) to just block out infrared light and take normal pictures. but, it mentions that it has a visible light blocker.

now, assuming that i'll win this bid, i don't want to spend ~$500 on it converting back to regular.

what's the best online resource that goes about solving my predicament? precisely, a DIY solution.

i most likely won't win the bid, but just in case.

thanks for any feedback.

PS: should i ask in the astrophotography section too?

I would suggest you check this site. They describe the conversion with FAQ's, lots of photos, etc.

why dont you just contact the seller and explain that you made a wrong bid; have him/her retract your bid.
