Ladybug (bird) larvae

Looks like I will have a lot of ladybugs to look forward to in the next few weeks.

Hundreds of larvae in my garden.

Not sure what is on the back of this one. Pollen maybe? Also if you look close you can see 3 or 4 tiny mites on its back. I'm guessing the larvae is eating these.

I never knew what ladybug larvae looked like... now I do!

When I was a kid i called these Alligator bugs. Don't know why.. lol.
