I'm looking to add another all around lens. I looked at the 28-135mm; 35-105mm; 28-80mm; and 35-80mm lenses.

Found some very inexpensive ($60) range Canon kit lenses and a brand I've never heard of Cosina.

Can anyone recommend/advise a fairly suitable lens in this category?

Thanks so much.

Rebel XS... don't you already have the 18-55IS? I wouldn't waste money buying old cheap lenses like the ones you have listed.

If you already do have the 18-55IS then get some sort of telephoto, maybe a Sigma 70-300 or something along those lines..

I'm sorry, I should have posted what I have. I have the standard kit lens, 18-55mm and also a
Sigma 18-200mm. I am just looking for something a bit smaller and lighter. I thought the 28-80mm would offer a bit more range in a lighter more compact lens.

Thanks

I wouldn't waste your money. You can easily crop from 55mm to 80mm equivalent anyway.
