I wrote support. They are one of the few low-cost hosts that actually provide excellent CS.

This is their reply:

I am sorry you are experiencing issues with your website. I have checked and double checked both the site, domain and server. I have been unable to find any issues, nor have I been able to reproduce the issue. Also, we do not rate limit downloads on the server. There are obviously a number of factors that can affect download speeds. It is hard for me to trouble shoot that without a large file on the site.

In any event, the site loaded in less than one second from my remote testing utility.

It's probably the fact that their servers are in Texas, and you and I are both far away from it.

It's still pretty fast. I did a download test of a few large files (600MB files on my sever). I downloaded one file, and it was about 175Kb/sec. I did two files simultaneously and it was about 175Kb/sec each.

It's a bummer since I have HD videos on my site, and it doesn't load nearly as fast as from youtube or vimeo.

Oh well, I still like hostgator.

For what it's worth, I went to http://www.fineartphot​ographyworks.com/ and the site is zippy, everything loaded in the blink of an eye including pictures in the galleries.

You can also install a small Speedtest app on your site if you'd like people to test their speeds to/from it.

Thanks, I appreciate the effort. My guess is that WooRank may be a little off in its evaluation of load times.

And as to the OP, in recommending hostgator note they also have excellent CS. Email support is very fast, but more than that, they offer something that has all but disappeared from the English language: telephone support.
