Is this a good brand? I am browsing websites, and Amazon.com has Op/Tech neckstraps ... wanted to see how these neckstraps hold up. thanks!

If it's good enough for POTN, it's good enough for you.

Check out P.O.T.N. SUPPORT SHOP IS OPEN, check it out now! (external link) (link at the top of the forum).

They make really nice straps - grippy any spread the load very well.

Great, just the kind of reply I was seeking. Thanks.
I will admit though that I am a bit worried about those quick disconnect buckles ... I would not like for one of them to for whatever reason become accidentally undone. That is a far drop for my camera.

Yep. A lot of us here use those straps, some of the best in the business. I regularly use a 1D and 100-400 and never get a dead shoulder using the strap where the standard Canon strap would cut right in.

Any stories of those buckles getting accidentally undone?

I doubt you'll fine many, could try a search though. I use a 7D + grip + 70-200 f4 and it works great, no stress at all with my pro loop.

Not that I know of. And I've had mine for a couple of years with pretty heavy loads. Not a sign of any weakness yet.

I have one and love it. I'm 6'3 and the strap was just not quite long enough so I also ordered the extensions. Now it's just perfect.

Mine's held a 1D3 and 300 2.8 after the (other brand) strap on the 300 2.8 failed. Nope. I've used OpTech straps on many cameras and in many places you wouldn't want to drop them and they've held up just fine.

Mine came in the membership kit from CPS. I really like it. When slung over my shoulder, it stays there a lot better than the standard Canon straps, which tend to slip.

OpTech here as well on three bodies and two lenses (300 2.8 and 500 4)

No buckle failures and hardly any signs of wear either.

Though I don't use OpTech, the products are topnotch and well worth the money. If I needed a product they had I would buy it.

Just another to add their vote of confidence in OPTech straps - I used to use the canon strap but never unless I had athick highcollar jump on otherwise that strap would dig right into my neck. With a light lens it was uncomfortable and with a heavy lens it was really almost painfull at times.

The OPTech strap is such a world away that its amazing - I can wear it with my 70-200mm f2.8 and its not painfull at all (well after a while the lens weight takes its inevitable toll, but the strap itself is sound). The clips are also great for getting the strap out of the way when you either just don't want it or when you are going for tripod work (where a normal strap will tangle and just get in the way)

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too
