yea thanks for that Mark, I had a hard enough time finding some to narrow down myself (still can't decide)

we need polls to choose which ones to put in tthe poll!

I'll stick my neck out on yours and say...

The Woodpecker, purely for it's 'rareness'

The deer shots are lovely but common.

Box Brownie wrote in post #10588542 (external link)
I Agree with Rich it is hard enough to choose ones own let alone advise others  Mark, they are all great shots but in the vein of choosing one that is 'uncommon' the frog and the woody maybe, possibly, could be the best???

As for myself how about this, I would need to rework it to see if there is more to 'lift it'???:-

Cheers Rich, Lawrence,
I think your right and i'm leaning towards the woody, the frog I like but its taken at the BWC so does that still count as wild or captive?.....
As for the seals I like the shot but it does need as you say a lift, I dont think that there is enough of the seals showing though the water splash, did you get any more at the time with less splash?

So it's down to these for me,
The two bird shots have had some cloning on them (they had rope things on their legs)... is this permitted

I really love the owl shot Rich but the same as you mentioned to me theres a lot of owl shots out there, so I would go for the seal which I think is a fantastic shot

I would leave it as it is personally.

thanks!

But is it technically good enough.

I need to dig out the raw file

it's a great image - I don't think it matters (not that I can tell anyways! ;):D)

As this round is wildlife I was working on the basis that anything is obviously captive should be avoided, so the Bullfrog surely is OK. Indeed if you have cloned out the jessies on the legs that "makes" for non captive 'look' I would think.

As for my seal shot, sadly that was if I recall very much a grabshot so nothing "right" is a close frame.

I am going to have re-review my DN images and look through other older folders for any that come up to the possible standard...???

How about one of these? Both of the captive Barn Owl at the Andover Conservancy.

Can someone clarify the captive/wild wildlife aspect - I know I asked before, but I would hate for us to be scuppered by entering a captive shot and it being disallowed... :D

I think if its captive but looks wild your get a away with it, my deer shots are they wild? or because they are in a park ie Knole Park does that make them captive?

I agree where obviously captive surely not = to wildlife but where not overtly captive I surmise OK but I think Mike said there was nothing on the rules for the round to suggest either way. So maybe just not pets & horses???
