Here (external link)'s my method - it may seem unwieldy at first, but it gives fantastic results.

What software are you using? There's always more than one way to approach things, and a lot involves what you have to work with.

Like Tony said - several ways to do this depending on what you have.

In CS3 - I selected the eye whites and copied to their own layer. Used the eyedropper to select an area of the whites to be neutral. Created a new layer filled with that color, then inverted the color, clipped the layer to the eyes, and changed the blend mode to overlay. Takes a few seconds to do.

I hope this one is ok. I zoomed in on the eyes and created a new layer. Then I used a brush to paint over the green with white and then lowered the opacity to 60% and then used a eraser to give it a circular shape again.

That looks waaaaaay overdone to me. I love DThompson's edit, though.

Yeah I'd agree that the edit is overly done. A lot of people get the white areas TOO white, so I'm always careful to try to make them stand out without looking "unnatural". Try to keep that word in mind when you're doing eyes. If it looks "unnatural", it's going to look bad.

Tried a little whitening as well as putting a bit of sparkle in to her 'lifeless' left eye.

I was bored. I took this photo one step further, this effect not many like but I thought it went well also worked on the eyes.

Thank you, appreciate your comment.

I don't see any dfference.

I didn't do any other whitening, only removed the color cast. Here is a little closer up to show the difference.
