In my usual bastardly sarcastic manner:
What was Cannon thinking?
18MP on a 1.6 crop?!
Why can't canon give me FF 12MP like Nikon?

Since 1998, Nikon has won 11 TIPA awards in the DSLR category. Canon has won 13. ;)

But in all seriousness, looking at the list (external link), it pretty much just reads like a "Who's Who" in the DSLR market. With most Nikon and Canon new releasing being offset by 6-12 months, it looks like there are enough categories to make everyone "happy". Something to note though, no Canon xxD has ever won a TIPA award.

At first glance I read this as "Canon wins five major PITA awards" and figured this was a post from a Nikon fan:)

And it still hasn't... :) Maybe the 60D will change that...

Not that I care about this much, but Canon didn't have a pro camera out last year and the IS II may not have launched early enough to qualify.

ahh... ok!! but still with the D3s hehe...

but looking at TIPA's site...I do think that there are awards for everybody and its not so much so of who is the best but rather.. a list of who's who..
