Do you use a battery grip with your 5D2?

Do you use a battery grip (BG-E6 or third party) with your 5D2? Please also mention the reason(s) why you have added the battery grip? Thanks for the inputs.

I have 3rd party and it works great.

I got the OEM along with my 5d when i first bought it but almost never use it. I don't shoot enough potrait orientation to make it worth the extra weight.

Yes, I use a grip... OEM, too.

Reason #1 - vertical controls, I shoot a lot in portrait orientation.
Reason #2 - twice as much battery reserve.
Reason #3 - the camera balances better with some of the larger lenses I use.

Because it makes my camera look more expensive..LOL!

I used to use grips on all three of my bodies and liked them, but have removed them so I can make them fit in one bag with my lenses.

No...I don't need my 5dmarkII to be bigger than my 1dmarkIII.... That's the whole point of owning a 5dmarkII for me.

Aforementioned vertical controls, but mainly I have the battery grip because I tend to go out for long hikes and I would prefer to just be able to shoot shoot shoot and not have to worry about battery power!

I also like the way the camera / battery grip feels in my hands, compared to without the grip.

Oem grip for vertical controls, extra battery life (well less changes during a loooong shoot) and it just fits my hands better

would not use one on any body. They cost money, add weight and bulk and need a more expensive L plate.

yes i have one... no i don't use it.

only time i use it is when I'm going to be shooting all day long with it or at an event or wedding. if its just random snaps or a simple shoot no (which is ilke 90% of the time)...

No. For me DSLR's are heavy and bulky enough as it is. Grips are a waste of money. It takes 5 seconds to swap a battery out, and twisting your wrist a little bit to go portrait isn't really that hard at all. At all.
