here's mine, linked in case avatar changes. concept was based on the simplest form of representing aperture as seen in the 'a' and also how to represent time as with shutter moving seen in the leg of the 'p'. the design was centered around photography but i use it for more than just that.

I'm working on developing mine, I've done graphic design and my web site, but I seem to be stuck. I'm shooting for a modern, minimalistic look. Any suggestions?

Agreed. Try using the same darker/bold font on your entire name, and leaving photography the way it is, then maybe bring the kearning in on the entire two words, so they are all closer together forming a "logo" so to speak.

andrepaul......... like it, all the parts seem to gel nicely.
john....... if you are going to adjust the kern of the type, do each one individually to get the best result.

Isn't, by definition of kearning, the space between two fonts?

Thank you very much. I posted about 10 different one's on facebook for my friends to choose from. They were a big help, I couldn't have done it without them.

It's very simple but looks fabulous on the boxes I give to my customers.

The kerning is the space inbetween 2 letters, program likes Indesign default to a metric kerning which isnt the best all the time, if you are going to try to make a logo by just adjusting the kerning, its best to adjust each individual space by itself to get the best result, i have seen it done where people just select the entire word and adjust as one unit, this gives you awkward spacing that can throw off what you are trying to do, especially if you have alot of "ascenders" and "Descenders". If possible change your kerning to "OPTICAL" then go in there and adjust...... if you want to do it right.

If you want to pay attention and a make a so called logo by tightening the kern, atleast pay attention to each individual space, you will get a better result.

hope this helps

Gotcha, that makes more sense.

on the top logo... the outline of the "o" of "zdor" is too thin... balance it so the black portion is thick as the rest of the zdor text.

honestly, not that bad... thought about playing with different colors for the color pop? or even sticking to black and greys?

the P is too thick in comparison to the "remier"... but very nice and clean.

I didn't like the top one, I just didn't know if the bottom one was to plain. I love black & white, so I don't know about adding color. I'll brainstorm about it and post later (also with closer spacing).
