Ryan, headshot and a boxing pose, C&C please :)

Went over to my friends house to take some pictures and out of 300, i edited 12 and i think these 2 are the best. im looking for comments and critique, be honest because im really looking to improve.

Shot with a 40D and 24-70 2.8 and 430ex and a SB-24. i dont remember the positioning because i was changing and moving it alot

#1 is preeeetty dark on the left side. Nice concept, though.
#2 -- I like! Intense. His waist looks like it disappears into nothingness, ha.
