This is a buddy's band, named "Livid". I took pictures of one of their practices recently;

Taken from their myspace (external link)page:
Livid has brought their explosive music across stage after stage since 2003. Their intense and high energy live shows have had them opening up for countless mainstays in their genre including - Godsmack, Sevendust, Dope, Drowning Pool, Soil, Breaking Benjamin, Nonpoint, Flyleaf and many more. After taking a brief hiatus from 2006-2009 for members pursue side projects and other musical interests - LIVID is back...reborn...taking the stage with fury and vengence once again.

Nice. It doesn't really even look like a practice session

Cool set - I really like #2 and the set list. Not a fan of the band promo blurb though.

Nice set, nice processing.

I think I'd crop the drummer shot a bit. (top & left)

Thanks all, much appreciated.

Rene, good call, I should do that.

Blackshadow, I agree. I don't really care for it much either, but that's what they had written, so that's what I used. Hopefully they'll have more up soon once they play a few more shows. I know they'll be playing out a few times in May.

Karen - Some of it was ambient light, but the majority was from two flashes I had setup (fired with PWs). They had a couple red light bulbs in the ceiling lights to give off a bunch of different crazy effects (when combined with my flashes). One of my flashes/PWs wasn't working 100% of the time, and I'm thinking it had something to do with the guitarist using a wireless system.

Thanks again for all the replies :)

Just wanted to update the thread a little bit; here a few shots I took of the same band at one of their live shows.

Agreed on the drummer. I really really like the crops that you've done here and the processing is inspiring. I actually just randomly went to a Good Charlotte concert and decided to take my camera and while processing the images I was looking for this exact look.

Thank you for this, I like the super grunge of the picture with the song list/writing on it. Very well done.

Vixen, yeah... that's John... and you're right, he's a beast. HUGE man, no lie. He's like three of me.

Tekkaman, I'm glad you like the images, and find the processing inspiring. I'm trying to come up with new ways to process the photos I take to go after certain looks. The setlist image I didn't have to do too much to at all, to be honest. I didn't even move the paper, everything was like that. I appreciate the kind words. :)
