Should my new B&W filter box be sealed??

I recently purchased a B&W 77mm MSC KSM CP filter ($$$) and then while waiting for it found out about all the counterfeits out there.

I did a little research and expected that as long as the box had the special foil label, all would be cool. But when I went to open it, one end of the box was sealed and the other end was not. So I was able to open the box without breaking a seal. What sense does it make to have a custom prism foil label (or whatever you call it) if the box itself isn't sealed?

My concern is that I bought it from Buy.com and didn't realize at the time they used a 3rd party vendor: Digital Foto Discount Club and for this kind of money I'd like to be certain.

Are the boxes not sealed at both ends?

Thanks!

My B&W filters didn't have any tapes/seals on the boxes. Just standard box flaps.

Thanks! Funny, all that trouble for a laser prism foil label and someone could just slip a fake right past the flap. duh.

All of my B+W filters had sealed tops, but the bottoms were not.

High end filters are like flash cards, only buy them from reputable sources. Apparently there is a flood of counterfeit B+W filters coming out of China right now.

Has anyone gotten a fake served in a bonafied box?
I'm not as concerned knowing the box is genuine.

correction...

I just checked my boxes...

like the previous post, my top flaps are sealed with a clear tape with the mm and description of the filter. Bottom flaps has no seals.
