shooting is like shooting

so i after a few years shooting digital i finally worked out what im doing
i am snatching the trigger

just like when firing a gun if you don't squeeze the trigger smoothly you will move your aim point
same thing with a camera if you mash your shutter release your camera will move and cause motion blur and move your focus point

"Squeeze! Don't pull!"

It's true though!

I can get ten rounds through my "machine gun" in AI Servo mode.

I do this sometimes, it's a bad habbit but I like to shoot and move very quickly so nobody notices me I'm more like a sniper.

Snipers move very slowly

Actually, this analogy is quite apt. The "rifle" stance and technique, elbows in, legs slightly spread, breath held, hand underneath the lens, will lead to sharper images. I'm told that top shooters also are able to control their heartbeat so that doesn't interfere with the shot, as well.
