Anybody printed on Canons Pro Platinum paper? If so is it worth the extra money?
I'm interested in how the photo looks on the paper and not the 200 year longevity.

Been a slow process, calibrating, printing, learning and comparing the matte, luster, and platinum with some old epson and canon paper I had sitting around. On the Pro Platinum (PT 101), with pigment ink, I was very happy with what I saw (very limited experience/basis for comparison) and the colors seemed to pop compared to the luster and some old Canon glossy. My understanding is that this paper really shines with dye ink (Pro 100) and would love to hear some first hand experience, especially in re: to if there are any cons to using this paper on a Pro-10 and how well B&W come out/tips for printing. 6dII/1dIII|Bronica Sq-Ai/EOS 3/A1

I print from LR4.4 and the results are stunning. Even for a four colour printer, it has a 5th cartridge but that is pigment black for text only. As well as wonderful colour images the monochrome output is wonderfully neuteral in tone with no apparent meterism under different lighting conditions, certainly good under normal tungsten, cfl, LED or even daylight.

Thanks Alan for your confirmation. Looked into it a little more and think I found my answer. PT101 is a porus resin coated glossy paper which has more pop in color for dye but works fine with pigments with color optimizer. I like the thickness and the color of the paper is a really bright white. The prints are bright and shiny for my eyes (had to increase exposure and contrast a lil) and since I cannot directly compare the same photos with a dye printer, I am more than happy. Definitely a keeper, but think I will be using the luster more. 6dII/1dIII|Bronica Sq-Ai/EOS 3/A1

Canon_Shoe Goldmember More info | Dec 22, 2015 11:07 | #5 I've recently been printing on the Pro Platinum paper and really like it so far. Colors are accurate and it has a slight metallic look to it. The only thing I wouldn't do is order it from Amazon. It took 3 shipments before I got one that wasn't damaged due to the way they package it Facebook-- http://www.facebook.com/AndrewShoemakerPhotography
