Can I recover my pics?

My laptop crashed Friday.....the dreaded blue screen. Fortunately almost all of my pictures and data are backed up as I make a habit out doing so. However, I had 100 or so pics taken of my parents (77,73) last weekend when they came to visit. Those pics are important to me considering my parents age.

Is there any way to recover the pictures?

Need a bit more info really. Does it no longer boot into windows? (assuming thats the os). The chances are that unless the hard disk has died you can recover data by at worst taking it out and attaching to another PC to read the data. The best course of action depends on what exactly has gone wrong.

do you have a spare desktop?
do you know if your laptop hdd is SATA or IDE? (open the HDD area and google the serial number)

what you can do is basically get a spare SATA or IDE connector (may be a bit more tricky for IDE) and also a power supply connector and connect it to a different PC that already boots from a working OS.

be careful that you do not re-format the disk... and see if you can pull your files from the HDD.

hopefully, for the sake of your pics, it's a OS/Laptop issue, not a HDD issue...

take some pics of the laptop HDD and post it here, let me try and find some of the adapters needed.
SATA is easy, you can get a spare sata cable and power cable really easy...

That about covers it^

If you're getting as far as a blue screen, the hard disk must be spinning up and trying to load windows, which is good news.
