Kinda went way into left field with this photo and I actually really like it. Was hoping to get some opinions. My only gripe is the ring isn't in focus tack sharp, which I think it should have been.

Was this an "E" shoot?
Their hands are filthy. What are the thoughts here?

Yeah it was an E Shoot, the hands look like that from adjustments of selective saturating level. Im working on cleaning it up now, its a little tricky though lol

The hands are orange on my screen. Otherwise, it's an interesting shot.

Yep. Hands look orange, arms don't. Also work on the crop, there is a distracting element in the upper right hand corner. I would also crop the bottom to have the arms closer to the bottom.

I really wantedto crop it low, I just didn't like not beig able to see the life ring. I was adfraid it would take away from the reason for the photo. Will rexrop and removed the top right element. I've been working on my laptop which isn't color callinlbrated. My desktop power supply busted, waiting on a new one

I tried a different crop that still shows a bit of the ring and adjusted the color a bit.. as well as a b&w to avoid the color issue

Not that you didn't go a good jpb, but its the blues in the sky , and yellows working together to get that "cover of a book" look. I thing B+W is best though, if I choose not to go with this edit

If the sky is important to you then maybe a mute desaturation towards the bottom of the picture like this?
