It may come across as a silly question, but how do I initially install the new 1.2.1 update onto my CF card without a card reader? I tried to place it onto my CF card via the USB cable and PC but it says file not recognised!!!

Can the update actually be installed onto the CF card via USB or will I need access to a card reader?

If you follow the links to the firmware update on the Canon site it tells you exactly what to do.

All your questions are answered in the link given in post #3. Try reading it.

Aha, I see you did, while I was typing.
