This is my first shot at newborns and my first real shoot with the black background.
Lighting was pretty much just a 540EZ 1/4 power through an umbrella.

I can't believe no one has commented on these. They look great. #2 and #4 are my favorites. #1 would work better if the baby was sleeping. She looks a little uncomfortable/stiff. #3 I would like better if the heads weren't cut off. The lighting is good. I'm sure the family is thrilled.

#1 is a tough pose.. not many people can pull that one off effectively. babies always look uncomfortable IMO... ;)

I love the 3rd one... totally fun. just wish dad's head had a little less cropped off.

Cheers Guys,

I agree with #1 and #3, definitely looks uncomfortable and the head chop is a bad habbit of mine I need to shake.

Appreciate the comments.

A couple more.

#5 - Head chop again I know, but I think it works ok with this image because the focus is on the baby
