I Took a boat trip on Friday to look for Snail Kites.

Here are a few images from that trip.

These showed the birds in action. The Apple Snails are still not in plentiful supply, but there are lots of snail eggs around now.

Taken with the 1DMKIV and the 500 f4

Wow, Bill, those are great shots. I'll be looking for them around Kissimmee in a week or so. Where did you find these?

Great job on these. The male on his perch is my favourite. Nice light and detail.

Hey Bill, amazing shots. Very productive outing, plenty of sunshine and some beautiful subjects.

When I see shots like these that 8 hour drive seems mighty short. I'm already dreaming of a weekend trip to give the Kites another try during the next couple months.

Thanks Stan;
These were South of Kissimmee on Lake Toho.

Thanks Mike;
I loved the natural perch instead of the white PVC stands.

Just let me know when. I'll set up the trip.
I think some of the Canadians are coming down again in 3 or 4 weeks.

Bill, Bill, Bill....... these have elevated you to my exalted 'Hate You' list.

Super shooting, buddy. You have the MkIV dialed in nicely.

Super shots, makes my shots of Snail Kites that I'd planned to post later in the week pale into insignificance!!

Thanks Richard;
The Snail Kites are an endangered species and it's not common to see them.
Any photos are a real accomplishment. Please don't hesitate to post them.

Beautiful images. I I love seeing pictures of these birds and someday I'll get to Florida to see them in real life.
