A "Pheasant" surprise

Coming back from a walk this morning, I came upon this Pheasant heading from our backyard towards the garden. Mid-morning, sunlight in the middle of a our yard. A completely unexpected pleasant surprise, or more appropriately ... a "pheasant" surprise. :)

Spectacular shot. Wow that color is off-the-chart nice. Strange to see a male in the open like this.

Very strange for around here. Especially when its coming from your backyard. In all fairness to the Pheasant, I do live in a rural area surrounded by woods and fields. But this is the first time I've every seen a Pheasant in our yard! Thanks for your kind comments and compliments.

Thank you. We have them around here... obviously, but its quite rare to see them this time of year in such an open area. Especially in a yard. Keep in mind that our yard is not small, but its a yard none-the-less and not the typical habitat for Pheasants.
