Hi Bruce! Your profile indicates image editing is fine. I hope you don't mind that I did that.

When I saw the image, it appeared to be so dark as to hide what seemed to be promised in the image. I went to Flickr, grabbed the original, and modified the curves in Gimp. This isn't the ideal, but it shows some of what's hidden in the image. It's a beautiful bridge! If I'd taken the photo, this is one where, for the short term, I'd fix it in post processing. For the long term, I'd go back and do different exposures on it, longer exposure times with a low ISO and closed lens, and see which one looks best.

This one has a lot of promise. :D

Thanks for the comments and edit mathogre and JerelXTI. Fairbanks has much to offer though. Perhaps not so much in the line of bridges. The willows are starting to bud up there. They are awesome and are fun to shoot.

No problem on the edit mathogre. I appreciate your ideas. It is dark and I knew what was (should) have been in frame. I played around with it in PS CS4 and had several that I saved. I like yours. I know I can get closer with a different setup (ISO-aperture-speed). It was tough to not have the bridge and tank farm lights blow out while trying to get enough light in for detail and distant mountains. I have a graduated ND filter. I may hike farther down towards the water and position the ND on the bridge and tank farm lights.

Thanks for looking and thanks for the ideas. Any more would be appreciated. I love the fact that people take the time to improve on an image.

Thanks,

Bruce
