it is a shame there is someone in number 2. Would work so well.

Such beautiful contrasts of oranges and blues.

Those are beautiful shots. I love the orange shades in the poppy shots.

My job started a marketing campaign recently with Nat Geo and Energizer who are running a photo submission contest called The Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest. Just send in your most spectacular photos like the ones in this thread and you can win a National Geographic Expeditions trip for two to the Greek Islands. You'll also have a feature in a upcoming issue of National Geographic Magazine in December. Pictures like these would make for awesome submissions.

Entry is open until June 30th. National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson serves as a contest judge, and will also be doling out photography tips and participating in a Q&A session on the contest website.

Here is a site with some examples of pics from prior years, as well as a link for those that want to submit:

Nice rattler! He uses the same path as humans by the looks of all the footprints. I think I would tread carefully if pussyfooting around in those poppies.

Here's an Update to the Photo Contest I posted about a few months back:

As I mentioned before the marketing company I work for picked up the campaigning for Nat Geo for their Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest a few months back, and now it is entering the next phase. This year there were 14,275 entrants, over 2000 more than last years contest.

I’m writing today because the finalists have been chosen and it’s time to vote! The winner of this photo contest will win a trip for two to Mikonos, Greece and we would love to see some input from the photography community.

Check out the Contest's site here to vote on your favorite submission:

WOW. Be careful of the Mojave Greens!!! While docile for a rattler, they carry the most toxic venom of the rattlesnake family.

It looks like for the most part the one in your picture, is fairly use to people trudging around his home.

Got that right. You do not want to be bitten by a Green.

I've never heard them called "docile" though. "Territorial" and "strikes without warning" are what I was always told.
