I think we can all concentrate too much on the last 2% of image when its the picture taker that counts! I hve some great images from my 'compromise' hyperzoom. Still like to get some nice glass though!

Agreed!- too much pixel counting - not enough soul - and I'm not afraid of dust either ;)

BigDan 230 were from sunday only in raw but havent had time to have a closer look apart from the sukhoi, i shot about the same on friday in jpeg but only got a couple of keepers. im thinking raw is the way forward can save more. taken on the 100-400L, i had some fun with the lens but it does cause some bad dust
