The fathers of hard rock - Deep Purple - played their first time in Cyprus last Friday (July 15, 2005). The concert was as good as it gets (read: absolutely awesome!). I was lucky enough to be there and not only that. I was not far from the stage, I had my Canon 75-300 USM IS with me, I wasn't too drunk, and the lights were mostly good. So I made a lot of pictures. If you are interested, you can see all the pictures here: http://mamchenkov.net …15_Deep_Purple_in_Cyprus/ (external link)

Here are a few to give an idea. Let me know what you think. :)

They look a little older than when I saw them, but then again so do I.

they're all good...number 5 excellent to my eyes, I like the composition, lights on the top end of the frame and your subject at the top bottom...a classic!

do you have EXIF info for that one? I am curious on ISO and shutter speed...

thanx for sharing!

Great photos, love your compositions........I can hear the tones of "space truckin" still, as I cruised along in my Zephyer Mk11 station wagon with the windows down, on a summer Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the post and the memories!

Lucky git,
DP are one of my all time favourite bands.
Nice shots too, not overly keen on the last one, his face looks wierd, drummers are so hard to photograph, i paticularily like the 3rd and 5th

Utterly stunning ... Grand job! Drummers are always near impossible so I think yours is exceptional. All the images are grade A!

Yes, sure. The EXIF data is enside the image. You can use jhead (external link) or any other EXIF tool to extract it.

Great Shots! #1 and #3 get my vote for the best, #4 would as well, but his head is cropped/cut off. :(

And the base is cropped too, but there is nothing I could do in the circumstances. :)

Fantastic shots! I grew up listening to Deep Purple w/Ritchie Blackmore, but Steve Morse is my absolute favorite geetar picker.

Thanks for posting!
