Well they have finally hatch and grown enough that i can see them in the nest, nothing special these were just some quick snapshots. I think they are around a week old maybe two its hard to say. Quality is not the best as these are big crops, i will go back tomorrow better suited to getting closer.
comments and critique welcome

Very nice shots Woody. Shooting from the ground, you can't expect too much. Can you see how many are in there? As a kid, I climbed many a tree for the Falconry club, to band the chicks, and almost all Red Tail nests had 4 chicks, to start with. The ones that were close to home, I would keep an eye on several times a day, and rescued 6 or 7 nest jumpers in the three years or so I did it. [Actually, they were pushed] Anyway, just wondering how it is 50 years later. :)

Thanks Mitch, unfortunately there is no other way to see in the nest, i think there are three chicks but I'm not really sure with the depth of the nest. We will find out more as they mature and get bigger. As i said before i will be checking every other day as i have three other nests i am watching that include Osprey (she is incubating right now) and i think its a Great Horned Owl (I think i saw an owlet in the nest today) This nest is extremely hard to get to and its in the tallest tree around.

Very cool. Watching nature can be tough though.

Thanks, I will be posting more as they get bigger, the nest is on the edge of a busy highway so my concern is when they learn to fly that they don't fly towards the highway.
