Handheld with 24- 105 mm L, adjusted brightness and contrast using DPP

Three steps:


  1. Wait for the moon to move closer to the ground.
  2. While you're waiting, move further back... A lot further...
  3. Use a longer lens


I think that would make a stronger image :)

Thanks for the feedback.
This is looking east, so later the moon sets on the west at 3 am this night. Yes I agree if the moon is closer to the horizon, if I take the shot later this month near moonrise I would have a better photo.

Exactly - There's just to much sky in this one.

Steps 2+3 would help you get a much larger moon, which would look nice too...
