The only annoyance with the 3442 is that, once you have a head mounted, it won't fit in the bag it came with so figure on an extra expense, if you use a tripod bag. There are also very few bags out there in the 24-25" range (3442 + M10 = 23").

I have only seen pics online of course, but not sure why it wouldn't fit in it's bag. No biggie either way, more curious than anything. I saw these legs used with a Manfrotto 488RC2 and it wouldn't close good either from what I recall. It was using the optional center column, but you could see it bulging. Not sure why anyone would put that head on legs like this, but so goes it. The Markins Q3 and Photo Clam seem to be pretty popular choices on these tripods. I've read a few treads regarding the Flashpoint ball heads but nothing on the tripods. I plan to do some off the road shooting this summer and fall and my old Bogen tripod is just too heavy..love it though but too heavy to haul off road. I would still use the Bogen when I could but want something to haul around that won't break the bank. Any advice? My Gear: 7d, XTi, 17-55f2.8 EF-S, 70-200f4L, 28-135 Kit lens, 2-580EXii
