That's right folks, the Gilroy Garlic Festival (external link) is coming up.
It's always on the last full weekend of July, at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy.
That means that this year it's going to be Friday thru Sunday July 23rd, 24th and 25th.

There is a lot of great food to be had as well as a few stages with live bands.
There should be some cool opportunities to get some cool candid shots of the crowds too.

It gets a little crazy (packed with people) on Saturday and Sunday, so I'm calling for a get together on Friday July 23rd.

Thanks for spearheading the effort once again, Alan. Sounds like a good time. Hopefully I can make it.

Probably meaningless to the masses but my heart always skips a beat whenever Gilroy, CA is mentioned as it was the last chunk of US soil my late Father had under his feet before shipping out to Italy in WWII.

He always spoke very fondly of his time there in the National Guard.

I am planning on being there, Alan. Probably just a day trip as it is only 90 minutes away.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

So it's kinda right in the middle between us, huh Mo?

Jay, are you going to join us and pay respects to your Father at the same time?

As for the Gilroy Garlic Festival, there are two things that I DON'T do.
The Garlic Ice Cream and the Garlic Wine. Uh uh. No way. There are just some things that shouldn't be done, and that's two of them in my book. :p

Cool. Look for this ugly guy there. Same hat, same sunglasses, probably wearing a Grumpy baseball jersey and a camera around his neck. The camera has a POTN strap on it. :p

Edit: I doubt there will be any snowballs for me to throw at anyone. So you're safe. ;)

Okay boys and girls.

This thread has not gotten a whole lot of attention.
Would more folks be able to go if we switched it to Sunday? (Sorry Buddha12, but I gotta ask).

Would most of the folks who've chimed in, be able to go on Sunday?
I'm not calling for Saturday since that's the day of the Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk and I know some folks might be interested in shooting that.
Besides, if we met on Sunday, that would give us something else to talk about. :D

Going to be an interesting weekend...doesn't it share with MotoGP?

I'd go but I am flying my parents in for the week and they arrive that weekend, bummerz.
