Yes it can. open all photos in camera raw, adjust white balance, then with all photos selected and corrected image displayed , choose white balance select tool and slect the an appropriate point in the image. All images are corrected. It even corrects the images in the background while you go back into photoshop to work on other images.

sorry, forgot to specify i was taslking about jpgs or tif's not RAW.
Of course all thew RAW convertors can do it but only with RAW files. in my earlier post i had said that the main reason i use RAW was because of the quickness of editing multiple images but have since found i can do it with jpgs in Picasa2.

Sorry for this question as I'm at work and time limited to read all the posts.

Is this correct?
To open RAW/CR2 in CS2 I need to download plugins! It does not open EOS350/RebelXT CR2 images. Or do I need to actually download a new version instead of relying on demo CDs?

Yes, to open CR2 files from the XT you need to have the Camera Raw 3.1 update. CS2 was released before it was available.

If someone else has some other arguments why raw is better then jpeg I would really appreciate them.

12 bits for RAW vs. 8 bits for jpeg. More data to work with.

My inital foray into RAW was for better control of highlights and contrast. I am learning every week, but it seems so much better using RAW controls.

Dull days at the soccer are a dream, not a lot of PP if any if the camera is set up right. There's vibrant colors in the team uniforms etc. Luv it.

BUT we have had weeks now of harsh daylight and clear skies, and I have taken to setting up at -1 or -half a stop in RAW... and I've lashed out on CPLs too, all trying to tame the light.

I vote for RSE. And the price is right!!!

Well now my C1 trail is ending, thankfully I seem to be steering towards RSE. Looks good, feels easy and all the controls are there at your finger tips.

I never liked C1 as too many tabs to select and those werid colour wheels.
