I live just a few minutes away from Grandfather.... and I've gotta say... I'm impressed just by the fact that you were able to get this close this winter.... this was a really rough winter to be running around taking pictures outdoors...

Thanks guys :) There is some golf course/private club right on 221 where the backdrop is GFM....very beautiful. I was in the parking lot and it was snowing on the mountain and not where I was. Fortunately I had my 55-250 with me, so I was able to zoom in a decent amount.

I love the PP on these.

Nice shots, I also like the processing it works well with the snow on the mountain. I was up that way this morning and it was cold and windy, there was a big frost on Grandfather.

Thanks :) There actually wasn't much processing done here...just tweaked the contrast to cut down on all the env fog from the snow and distance. One day I'll get around to printing these :)

Like the first shot... The PP give it that old antique feel from back in the old days... Well done...

Very nice...we were there a few weeks ago along with some ugly weather. Can't believe what
they charge for entry now.

That is supposed to be changing soon... ownership is supposed to change from the private owners now, to the state .... once the state owns it, it should be free. .... and for us locals, we get 2 months a year where we can go for a reduced rate.... April and November I think...

The rate change would be cool, although it doesn't bother me. Hopefully once the state takes over they don't start to build unnecessary whatever there to try to get more attraction money.

I'll be interested to see if when the state takes over, they add more "safety" precautions... but I kinda like being able to walk around on top of the rocks... to walk out to the edge and look down...

Grandfather Moutain is such a beautiful place to be.

Great photos, really like the processing.

I like the moody look of both images. This is an area that I shoot often. KC
