Can you still open the PSD file? Did you save your final changes in the PSD file before converting to jpg? If so on both questions, could you just open the psd and resave as jpg? Just curious...

Seems that the fault lies with PS, you could open up with PS, but couldn't open up the saved .jpg from PS

I don't get why you saved it as a TIFF file, rather convert it to .jpg straight from DPP, then opened up with PS to save it as a copy

Try opening up the .psd with PS, it does save it as a copy with all the layers, but not the history

Here are two possible reasons: A. To retain the advantages of 16 bit depth. B. To avoid the slight lose of quality that accompanies a jpg save. Large numbers of people employ exactly that workflow.

A and B are correct. :)

The problem just became stranger.

I redid the work.

I opened a TIFF 16.bit file. Made my edits in B&W. Saved as JPEG.

Then I opened this file to add a color to the background. (Silhouette of a preggo) Then saved. This file will NOT open.

Reverted back to the B&W file. Edited with a different color. Saved. This file WILL OPEN.

Same process. Two different results.
