Hey everyone! My name is Jeff and this is my first post/pic share. I'm self taught...over a year now of long days and nights of watching photoshop tutorials, lighting, aperture and shutter speed tutorials...and thousands of pics to try to get stuff down...but here are some pics I took of my niece on easter, constructive criticism is always welcome :)

First one is alright, got some hard shadows though on her. I would have used some type of fill to even/soften them out. Watch your backgrounds. What's in them as well as the "lines" that are in them. In the first, imo, the lines in the back created by the house are somewhat off. Might be fixed by rotating the photo just a hair clockwise. You don't have image editing turned on so I can't post an example. In number 2 the lighting is a bit better but the composition is off and the photo, again imo, seems unbalanced. If you cropped it, I think it is a bad crop.

Oh and get a free flickr account, it will make hosting your photos easier as people will be able to see full sized versions.

Get a free flickr account and host your images there. It is easier to work on a full size image then the itty bitty ones in your attachment. Also I would put the uncropped images on flickr if you are wanting people to show examples of a better crop.
