I took this a while ago and it's always bugged me because to my eye, it's just not quite right. I'm not exactly sure why and even less sure about what to do with it, pp wise.
Any suggestions, comments or ideas would be appreciated.

I think that, the needle and thread need more light, and the face blown out more?

Your main subject i guess is the needle, and your face is the secondary subject. Your lighting to me personaly is the wrong way round?

Thoughts?

I would agree the lighting is not strong enough on your subject.

Also... the needle's eye is perpendicular to the thread, that'll never work. :D

You'll be late for everything because the light was right and the action was good (magoosmc)

I'm wondering what it would look like if you could get the frayed ends of the thread a little tighter. Try licking it and lightly rolling it a bit. And I definitely agree with snails about the lighting.

Another agreed on lighting. I think it's the eye in the shadow that might be throwing things off a little. The bokeh of a catchlight, as well as bright parts of the oof eyeglass frame distracts viwers' attention.

The person looks a little cross eyed too - it's inevitable when the focus of attention is so close to the face. Now that I'm conscious about the issue I don't know if I do it or not, but when trying to do precision work at close distance with intense mental focus, does one close one eye (and open mouth/stick tongue out)?

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.

otherwise, sometimes the concept for a shot is better than the shot itself?
