I just remembered the question. Is it necessary to get a business license? When should I get it? Has anyone ever gotten away without it? If I get a business license can I use it anywhere I go?

well, you aren't going to get a business license without being legal. and that means paying taxes and reporting this and reporting that... etc.

as with anything, you don't have to be legal. but when big bad tax man stumbles upon you, you could be in for a world of problems.

You only need a license in the state you operate your business out of. And for better answers... find a good small business CPA.
