Help a Newb with I.D's

Very new to this and would like some help with two I.D's if possible all taken in the UK.

First one is from Emberton Park outside Olney and the second is a massive crop taken at the RSPCB HQ at Sandy Beds.

Not sure what kind of birds, but they're sure pretty..

The first is a female goosander (called a common mergenser in some other countries), and the second is a wren (called a winter wren in other some countries).

Mergansers are VERY hard to get close to here, that is a very nice shot of one!
