Taken on an almost full moon night, no more time on the vacation and it was clear. This was from a tripod. Canon 100-400 on a 400d fitted with a 1.4x extender and then a x2 extender. Shot at ISO100 at full telephoto. f11 for 1/60th POV from Northern Sulawesi.

Critique welcome.

Cheers, Mark.

Nice, clear shot. Well done. From your specs, you had about 1100mm focal length. Was the f/11 read off the lens, or did you calculate it? At 2.8X, f/11 on the lens would actually be f/30.8, more likely to be the setting for 1/60sec and 100 ISO. I'd be interested in seeing a larger version. Am.

Thanks for the kind words ameerat42,
I kinda just worked in visually on the settings. I knew that camera calculations would leave me with a white shiny dome so just set the first attempt at 1/30th but slightly burnt out and unfocused. 1/60th calmed it down and gave a pleasing image. The larger version will be posted ina day or so, about to head out the door.

Cheers again,
Mark.

That Moon shot is so cool. I wish I can take a picture of the moon, but I don't have the gear for it.
