Looking for processing input: Cemetery grotto

Have at it. I didn't have the best light when I shot this image, but for the moment I am content to go and reshoot the scene in better light.

Any tips on a good black and white conversion? It has been eluding me.

Were you aiming for a gloomy look? If that was your intention I think the picture works. I love how the pathway leads the eye directly to the center.

What is distracting is the trees in the background. It's too noisy. Perhaps with our buddy Content Aware Phil, you could fix that in a couple weeks.

The grave on the right also kills the symmetry of the photo.

But I love the effect of the sky.

From a photography's technical standpoint, more work needed.

However from an artistic standpoint, I approve and it works just fine. Great Photo!

I like the procedures you used on this shot - it's great.

If I wanted to put more emphasis on "Christ on the Cross", I would come up closer to it and shoot at a much higher angle - this would isolate the cross from the background that it now has. Do you see what I mean?
