Just got the trial downloaded and I'm using it now. So far so good.

First thing I tried was the content aware fill options - pretty cool.

It's a godsend for removing telephone lines, man... that is worth the price of admission right there.

I played with content aware fill too and I can say it´s the greatest tool for creating abstract pictures* :D
It works well if there is something on a simple texture (bird in sky, poster on wall, horse crap on road) but when you have something complicated, it´s very easy to confuse it (I tried to remove a hill on the horizon and it filled the space with grass which was in the foreground)

*EDIT: let´s make a contest: the best abstract/surrealistic photo created with the content aware fill :D

Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS, Canon EF 50 f/1.4, Sigma 120-400 f/4.5-5.6 OS, Canon Speedlite 580EX II

Hey, easily please or not... that's something that I often spend a lot of time correcting and this tool has made things like this almost trivial to do... that, to me, is easily pleasing. ;-)a

Tried to remove an outlet from a brick wall and CA fill messed up the wall. Tried it all sorts of ways and will all sorts of selecitons around it, but not one acceptable result.

While it does excel in some areas, its not an end all solution like I thought it would be.

So far the best use I've found for CA is filling in panoramas, it works just as well as the demo video, amazing. otherwise, yeah mostly good for abstract art.

I have to admit that I didn't look into this feature yet. So far, there is little consensus on its usefulness, so I guess everyone should decide for themselves. The upgrade price ($200) is not too crazy, all things considering.

I guess I'm spoiled, we don't have any overhead phone lines to remove. :D

Anything that isn't a random pattern will confuse it.

Yea Ive noted that too. Which is weird to me because I would think recreating a more linear pattern would be easier to program?

yeah.

I can see it will be good for landscape photographers. But others maybe not. I tried removing a runner waiting to run in a race (on a track) and honestly the old clone tool would have been a better choice. At least then I'd have some sort of control of where the new elements will go. Especially since you get a sorta preview of what will be replaced before you click (since CS4).
