Currently the voting rules only allow users to vote for one photo. This is fine, but it means that the voting tends to focus around only one or two very good photos. This is a shame because there are many good photos that don't get any votes at all.

So, here's the proposal. We should allow each user to vote for their top 5 photos, which will allow more photos to receive votes.

Comments?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Sometimes picking just one photo out of so many can be a challenge.

Great Idea BB, hopefully it'll encourage people to view them all before choosing the prettiest thumbnail..I'm guilty of clicking the eye catching thumb thou:p

Either way it's a better system

I think its a good idea, It's disapointing to see good pictures with no votes... It would also be discouraging to the poster.

Does it have to be 5 votes? I think 3 votes is it...

Yes, I agree. If I had a choice, I would choose 3.

5 seems a bit much, unless you've got something like 30 or so pictures in the contest. 3 seems better to me.

Would it be possible to alter the number of votes per user based on the number of entries, or is it a set number for the forum?

Voted yes, but agree that 5 might be too much. 3 would be spot on.

Excellent. We'll start with 3 votes and increase it to five if that becomes necessary. Thanks for taking the time to comment
